Proclaim His Love

Steps to KNowing Christ

Ever wondered what it means to "Accept Christ"? You have probably heard about being "Saved", being "Born Again, "becoming a Christian" but what does this mean? And how can you personally experience Salvation?

1. Admit

  1. Admit that you are a sinner. While most of us think we are “good people," everyone has committed sin. ...Romans 3:23 says- for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,  We all have made mistakes, we all have committed sins.

2. Recognize that you need a Savior

Since we all have sinned, Romans 6:23 says that the wages of sin is death. Ouch, how can we get around this thing of sin? By doing good works, by striving to love others? NO- that will not work. We can't be saved by our good works.

3. Understand that Christ Died for YOU!

Jesus came to take our punishment for sin. He willingly gave His life for us so that we might be saved. 1 John 3:16 says This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. When Jesus died on a cross, He took the penalty for our sin. The Bible says, “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8
). When Jesus rose again, He conquered the grave forever! His death and resurrection guarantee eternal life for those who believe in Him.

4. Ask Him to save you!

God invites you to come into a relationship with Him. The final step is trusting Jesus as your Savior. This means you personally believe that Jesus died on the cross to take the penalty for your sins. You place your faith in Him to forgive all your sins, and you receive His gift of everlasting life.  Romans 10:13 For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”  Will you call on Him today? Repent of your sin, allow Him to be Lord of your life. I encourage you to ask Jesus to forgive you and save you.   Then ask Him to lead you, giving you wisdom concerning how to follow Him.
